About KidsLingua

Language, culture and identity for kids.

We're on a mission to preserve the beauty of linguistic diversity and empower young learners to embrace their cultural identities.

Our story

Technology and tradition, hand in hand.

Across the African diaspora, and at home on the continent, too many children are growing up without the language their parents and grandparents speak. When a language fades, so do the stories, songs and proverbs that come with it.

KidsLingua was created to change that. We blend playful technology with the wisdom of native speakers, so children can learn African languages in a way that feels like play and connects them to who they are.

We're based in Abuja, Nigeria, and we build for families everywhere: from Lagos to London, Accra to Atlanta.

Our mission

More than just an app.

KidsLingua is a gateway to linguistic and cultural connection. Five ideas guide everything we build.

  • Unlocking cultural wonders

We spark children's curiosity by turning language learning into a cultural adventure.

  • Cultural celebration

We showcase African languages, traditions and customs through games, stories and virtual adventures.

  • Bridging generations

We help children speak the languages of their parents and grandparents, and keep family stories alive.

  • Accessible to all

Language learning should be a universal experience, so the KidsLingua app is free to play and learn.

  • Positive impact on education

We want to work alongside schools to support academic success and cultural understanding.

  • Want to help us build it?

Teachers, content reviewers and school partners: we'd love to hear from you.

Give them the gift of the language you grew up with.
