Terms of use

The agreement between your family and KidsLingua when you use our website, apps and live lessons.

Effective date: 21 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms (“Terms”) apply to your use of KidsLingua, including the website at kidslingua.io, the KidsLingua platform and mobile apps, and live lessons with teachers (together, the “Service”). KidsLingua is a product of KidsLingua.IO Inc. (“KidsLingua”, “we”, “us”), a Delaware corporation with its registered address at 262 Chapman Rd, Ste 240, Newark, DE 19702, United States.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal information. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Who can use KidsLingua

  • Accounts must be created by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over, who is responsible for the account and for each child using it.
  • Children may use the Service only through a learner profile set up by their parent or guardian, and with their permission.
  • Parents and guardians should supervise their child's use of the Service as appropriate for the child's age, including during live lessons.
  • Schools and organisations that use KidsLingua may be covered by a separate agreement with us.

3. Your account

  • Please give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password secure and don't share your login with anyone outside your household. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Tell us straight away at info@kidslingua.io if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.

4. Free app and paid live lessons

The KidsLingua app is free to use and enjoy. Lessons, games and stories in the app do not cost anything.

Live lessons with teachers are a paid service. Before you book, we will show you the price, the length of the lesson, and the cancellation and rescheduling rules that apply. Those booking details form part of these Terms.

  • Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and include any taxes we are required to charge.
  • Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. By paying, you also agree to the payment provider's terms.
  • If you buy a subscription or a bundle of lessons, we will clearly show what it includes, how often you will be charged and how to cancel. You can cancel a subscription at any time and it will stop renewing at the end of the current period.
  • If a lesson does not take place because of a problem on our side, or the teacher does not attend, we will offer a replacement lesson or a full refund for that lesson.
  • Nothing in these Terms affects any right you have under consumer law to cancel, or to a refund, repair or replacement.

5. Live lessons

  • Our teachers are trained and certified native speakers of the languages they teach. Lessons take place by live video through the Service.
  • Please make sure your child joins from a suitable, quiet space, and that a parent or guardian is nearby during the lesson.
  • Lessons must stay on the KidsLingua platform. Please don't share personal contact details with teachers or arrange lessons outside the Service. This protects your child and helps us make sure every lesson meets our standards.
  • We do not record live lessons unless we have asked for and received your permission first.
  • If anything in a lesson worries you, please tell us straight away at info@kidslingua.io. We take every safeguarding concern seriously.

6. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you and anyone using your account must not:

  • harass, bully, threaten or behave inappropriately towards anyone, including teachers and children;
  • share content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, sexual or otherwise unsuitable for children;
  • impersonate anyone, or create an account for someone without their permission;
  • try to access other people's accounts, or parts of the Service you are not authorised to use;
  • copy, scrape, resell or commercially exploit the Service or its content without our written permission;
  • interfere with the Service, introduce malicious code, or try to reverse engineer our apps, except where the law allows;
  • misuse our forms, for example by sending spam.

7. Our content and intellectual property

The Service, including its lessons, audio, stories, illustrations, characters, software, name and logos, belongs toKidsLingua.IO Inc. or the people who license it to us, and is protected by intellectual property laws.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your family's own, non-commercial learning. You may share links to our website and social media posts, but please ask us before reusing our content or characters elsewhere.

8. Content you share with us

If you send us feedback, suggestions or ideas, we may use them to improve KidsLingua without owing you anything. Anything your child creates in the Service, such as voice practice recordings, is used only to provide the Service and is handled as described in our privacy policy.

9. App stores and third-party services

If you download our apps from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store's own terms also apply to the download. The Service may link to other websites and services, such as social networks, that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or practices, so please read their terms and privacy policies.

10. Availability and changes to the Service

We work hard to keep KidsLingua running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to pause the Service for maintenance or updates. We regularly add, improve and sometimes retire features and languages. If a change significantly affects a paid service you have bought, we will tell you in advance and, where appropriate, offer a refund for anything you have paid for but cannot use.

11. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, for business losses, or for problems caused by your device, internet connection or events outside our reasonable control.

Where the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

12. Ending your use of KidsLingua

  • You can stop using KidsLingua and close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing info@kidslingua.io.
  • We may suspend or close an account if these Terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, if we need to protect a child or other users, or if the law requires it. Where appropriate, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
  • If we close your account without good reason, we will refund any live lessons you have paid for but not yet taken.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you live in another country, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.

If you have a problem, please contact us first at info@kidslingua.io. Most issues can be resolved quickly and informally, and we will always try to put things right.

14. General

  • We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the effective date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in advance by email or in the Service. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, the new Terms will apply.
  • If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply.
  • We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, for example if our business is sold, and we will tell you if this happens. Your rights under these Terms will not be affected.
  • If we don't enforce a part of these Terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
